Overview

 

With Overheatstop, there's no reason to pay thousands of rands for an overheated engine.
The Overheatstop assist to protect engines from overheating by alerting the driver with a flickering Red LED and a clearly audible buzzer when the engine is starting to run hotter than normal, and switching off the engine after 30 seconds of warning. During the 30 seconds of warning, another -+400 metres can be driven at 50km/h to park the vehicle. In emergencies, this shutdown function can be disabled by pressing the Override button. Also, the switch-off feature can optionally be eliminated entirely during installation and serve as an early warning system only. Because the Overheatstop monitors the engine block's temperature, it works regardless of what the cause of overheating is, such as too little water, faulty thermostat, too little oil, faulty oil or water pump, blocked radiator, burst pipe etc., 
The Overheatstop also monitors the oil pressure and will warn the driver if the oil pressure is too low, an orange LED will light up on the OHS unit. The oil pressure is monitored from the vehicle’s oil pressure sensor. After the Overheatstop turns off the engine, the vehicle will only start again, after the engine has cooled sufficiently, yet in an emergency the driver can keep the vehicle moving as the override button will allow the driver to do so or to start the engine and drive the vehicle further if in an unsafe spot. 

The OHS has a green LED, which light up when the ignition is witched on and the engine temperature is below the calibrated alarm temperature. An orange LED alert the driver when the oil pressure is too low.  When the engine is running hotter than normal, a flashing red LED and a buzzer alerts the driver and the OHS can switch the engine off after 30 seconds of warning.
  
Each OHS has a unique unit number, which is mounted on the right side of the Control unit and is also displayed on the screen of the OHS unit.
